How We Can HelpIf you live on or near the Leech Lake, Red Lake, or White Earth Reservations, and meet our income guidelines, we may be able to help you, regardless of race, ethnicity, or enrollment status, in the following types of cases: Child Protection: We may be able to represent you if you are involved in a Child In Need of Protection or Services (CHIPS/Child Protection) case in the Leech Lake, White Earth, or Red Lake Reservation Tribal Courts. Traffic: We may be able to represent you in a traffic case in Leech Lake Tribal Court if the court appoints us. Divorce: We may be able to represent you if live on or near the Leech Lake or Red Lake Reservations, are involved in a divorce, and experienced domestic violence in your marriage. Certain other requirements apply, please contact our office for intake. If you live on the White Earth Reservation you should contact DOVE. Order for Protection (OFP): If you live on or near the Leech Lake or Red Lake Reservations and need an Order for Protection (OFP) to protect yourself from a partner, ex-partner, family member, or someone you have lived with we may be able to help you. Certain other requirements apply, please contact our office for intake. If you live on the White Earth Reservation you should contact DOVE. Evictions: We may be able to represent you if you are being evicted from tribal or public housing. Garnishment: If your bank funds are being garnished and you are collection proof we might be able to help you. If you are not sure if you are collection proof please contact our office for intake. Wills, Healthcare Directives, & Durable Powers of Attorney: If you are terminally ill, are about to undergo a life-threatening medical procedure, or are over 60 years of age, please contact us for intake. Social Security: If you need help filing a social security claim we might be able to help you. Certain other requirements apply, please contact our office for intake. Civil Forfeiture: If you have received a forfeiture notice that arose from the reservation of your enrollment we may be able to help you. Certain other requirements apply, please contact our office for intake. School Law Issues: If you have concerns that involve your child at school, including concerns about IEP or discipline issue we may be able to help you on a limited basis, please contact our office for intake. Indian Law: If you have a concern that involves certain Indian law issues we might be able to help. If you believe your concerns may fall into this category, please contact our office for intake. Custody or Visitation: We do not represent individuals in court in custody or visitation cases. An attorney may be able to help you fill out forms and give you general advice, call our office for intake. Other Legal Issues: If you have legal concerns that do not fall into any of the above categories we may still be able to help you. Please call our office for intake.
